Erdbeercape - Strawberry cape

Die Woche war ziemlich vollgepackt mit Lernen. Trotzdem bin ich an meinem Erdbeercape ganz gut vorangekommen. Die Farben sind schön, aber das Garn fasert total und teilt sich oft in seine einzelnen Stränge auf, was nervig ist. 

Ganz fertig bin ich noch nicht, weil noch eine Kordel zum Zusammenbinden fehlt. 

Ich habe übrigens schon wieder zwei neue Projekte angefangen und Wolle für ein Drittes gekauft (jaja, ich sollte eigentlich mal die verarbeiten, die ich hier rumliegen habe).

It's been a horribly busy week, I can't keep up with all the stuff we're supposed to learn at the moment. 

But nevertheless, I've been able to make some progress on the strawberry cape. While I totally love the color of the yarn, I'm annoyed by its proneness to fray. 

The cape isn't completely finished since I have to add a cord so that it can be tied together.

By the way, I started two new projects and bought some wool (yeah, I know, I was supposed to use up my stash before...) for another one.

Lüttle red riding hood?

Ich stecke mitten im Kampf mit meinen Wollresten und musste gestern zwei Projekte wieder aufribbeln, weil die Wolle dann doch nicht reichte. Momentan arbeite ich an meinem lange geplanten Erdbeer-Cape.

I'm in the middle of decimating my yarn leftovers. Sadly, I had to frog two projects yesterday because I didn't have enough yarn to complete them. Right now, I'm working on my long planned strawberry cape.

Pulswärmer - Wristwarmers

Momentan bin ich damit beschäftigt, Wollreste zu verwerten. Dabei habe ich einfach mal ein Paar Pulswärmer gemacht, weil ich dieses Muster (halbe Stäbchen immer reihenweise abwechselnd nur in das vordere bzw. nur in das hintere Maschenglied eingestochen) ausprobieren wollte. Das Ergebnis sieht ein wenig so wie ein gestricktes Patentmuster aus. Wieviele Wollreste noch ihrer Verwertung harren, sieht man unten.

Last week, I started using up my yarn leftovers. I crocheted some wristwarmers because I wanted to try out this pattern (half double crochet stitches -  first row in front loops only, next in back loops only). The result looks a bit like a knitted patent pattern. As you can see below, there's still lots of work to do!

Howdy Ho!

Ja, eklig, weiß ich! Vor ein Paar Wochen hat mich jemand gefragt, ob ich einen Mr. Hanky-Klorollenschoner machen kann. Bittesehr. 

Vor Jahrzehnten waren diese Klorollenschoner super modern, irgendwie hatte die jeder auf der Hutablage. Einige waren ziemlich kunstvoll. Ich erinnere mich da an eine, bei der man die Beine einer Barbiepuppe durch die Papprolle steckte, so dass das Kleid von der Puppe den Schoner bildete. Woah. 

Inzwischen sind die Dinger wohl aus der Mode, jedenfalls konnte ich auf die Schnelle kein Muster für den Schoner finden, also musste ich das auch erst ausdenken.

Achja, ich bin eigentlich ein South Park Fan, aber Mr. Hanky mochte ich nie.

Yeah, it's gross, I know! Several weeks ago, someone asked, whether I could crochet a  "Mr. Hanky-Klorollenschoner". Here it is.

Decades ago, it was pretty popular to put rolls of toilet paper - hidden under a crocheted cover - on the rear shelf of one's car. Some of them were quite extravagant, I remember one where a Barbie doll's legs were put through the roll and her crocheted dress then served as cover.

Today, they seem to have gotten out of fashion, I couldn't even find a pattern for the cover, so I had to make that up myself, too.

 By the way, I really like South Park, but Mr. Hanky is probably my least favorite character.

Schaputze! - Octophood!

So, die Schalkaputze ist nun endlich fertig. Fast 1km Wolle und etliche Stunden Arbeit hat es gebraucht. 

Die Kordel habe ich mit der Strickliesel gemacht. Anstelle einer Quaste habe ich ein Oktopus-Amigurumi genommen.

Jetzt kann der Winter kommen.

I finally finished my scarf-hood-thingy-project. It took me lots and lots of hours of work and almost one kilometer of yarn. The string was made using a knitting spool. Instead of a tassel, I added an octopus amigurumi.

Obstsalat - fruit salad

Diese Woche hatte ich recht viel zu tun, so dass meine Häkelprojekte immer noch nicht fertig sind. Deswegen zeige ich ein Paar Anhänger, die ich aus Fimo gemacht habe. Man kann sie auf eine normale Halskette auffädeln und tragen. Die Haken sind aus dem Baumarkt. 

I've been rather busy this week, so my crocheted projects are still unfinished. That's why there's some room to show a few more of my polymer clay projects. I use these as pendants for a simple silver necklace. The tiny hooks can be bought at hardware stores or DIY-markets.

Verfilzt und zugenäht - How I felt

Dieses Wochenende wollte ich mich eigentlich voll dem Filzen widmen und eine Handtasche oder sowas machen. Allerdings ist mein erstes Filzexperiment nicht so überragend geworden. Ich habe eine Rose aus Nicky Epsteins Buch "Crocheted Flowers" (das übrigens total super ist) gemacht und dann meine Waschmaschine ans Werk geschickt. Irgendwie sieht die Rose aber nicht so fluffig und wellig aus, wie ich das wollte. :/ Ich glaube, ich brauche noch etwas Übung. 

Die kleinere Rose ist übrigens aus unserem Garten.

Freitag wollte ich eigentlich noch mehr Wolle zum Filzen kaufen, aber es gab nicht die Farben die ich brauche. Außerdem war es extrem heiß und voll. Deswegen habe ich nur Wolle für ein anderes Projekt gekauft und bin dann schleunigst nach Hause um meine Füße abzukühlen. 

Also kein Filzwochenende. 

Wenigstens nimmt mein Schal Formen an. Das andere Projekt ist schon so weit, dass ich es gar nicht mehr zeigen kann, ohne dass man errät, was es wird. 

This weekend, I had planned to start a felting project (a bag or something like that), but my first felting experiment didn't turn out that great. I crocheted a rose using a pattern from Nicky Epsteins "Crocheted Flowers" (awesome book!) and let my washing machine do the felting. But it didn't get that soft and wavy look I expected. :/ I think I need more practice. 

By the way, the smaller rose is from our garden.

I tried to purchase more of the precious felting wool on friday, but they didn't have the colors I desired and it was super hot and crowded so I just bought some yarn for a different project and rushed home to cool my feet. 

So, no felting weekend.

Well, at least my scarf is progressing well (my other project is that far progressed, that I can't even show it anymore without revealing what it is...).

Work in Progress

Ich arbeite meist an mehreren Projekten gleichzeitig.

Oben sieht man einen Schal, der auch als Kapuze dienen soll. Hier gab es leider überhaupt keine Winterwolle mehr. Zum Glück konnte meine Mutter noch vernünftige Wolle auftreiben. Ich finde, sie hat eine wirklich tolle Farbe ausgesucht.
Ich häkle Stäbchen, die nur in das vordere Maschenglied gearbeitet werden, das ist eines meiner Lieblingsmuster.

Das Projekt unten ist eine Anfrage und bleibt noch geheim, bis es fertig ist.



I usually have several projects lying around.

The first picture shows a scarf that will include a hood. Sadly I could'nt find any winter wool where I live. But I was lucky because my mother sent me a packet of green wool. I think she chose a great color.
The pattern (double crochet in front loops only) is one of my favorite ones.

The second project is a request and it will stay secret until I'm finished.
