Twilight Sparkle Smartphone Cover

Ich hatte Vorbehalte gegen Smartphones, weil alle so einen Wirbel darum machen, aber ich muss gestehen, dass sie eigentlich ganz nützlich sind. Deswegen habe ich eine Hülle mit einem smarten Pony gemacht.

At first I didn't really like smartphones because everyone is making such a fuzz about it, but I have to admit that they are actually pretty useful.

So.. a smart pony for a smartphone.

Liebe auf den ersten Strick - I knit you not

.. oder auch nicht. 

Das ist mein bisheriger Fortschritt an meinem ersten Stickprojekt. Eigentlich nur ein großes Stück glatt rechts gestrickt.

Es wird ein Poncho, dazu muss ich noch ein weiteres Teil von der Größe stricken. Ich hoffe, ich habe mich nicht verkalkuliert, und kriege da nachher noch meinen Kopf durch. 

Voilà, my first knitting project. Actually, it's just one large piece done in stockinette. It's going to be a poncho. I have to do another piece just like this one and sew them together. I hope I didn't mess up the measures, because if I did, I might not be able to put my head through the thing. 

Applebag, finished version - Applebag, fertig!

Endlich fertig! Das hat deutlich länger gedauert, als ich dachte. Ich musste eine zusätzliche Schicht Stoff in die Träger einarbeiten, damit sie stabiler werden, deswegen sind sie etwas klobig geworden.

Finally finished! This took way longer than I expected.  I had to place an extra layer of cloth inside the handles to add more stability, but that made them a bit bulky. 

Fluttershy Stickerei - Fluttershy embroidery

Die kleine Blogpause wegen der Feiertage ist vorbei. Die Applejack- Tasche ist fast fertig. Ich habe heute den letzten Träger fertig gemacht und glätte ihn gerade. Danach muss ich nur noch alles zusammennähen. 

Dieses Jahr hatte ich in meinem Adventskalender einige Knäule Stickgarn. Anfangs dachte ich ja, dass Sticken nicht ganz einfach ist, aber eigentlich ist es gar nicht schwer. Mein erstes Projekt ist die Fluttershystickerei oben. Ich habe dazu einfach ein Bild ausgedruckt, die Linien auf ein Stück Butterbrotpapier durchgepaust, das Papier dann mit Tesafilm auf dem Filz befestigt und einfach entlanggestickt (siehe unten). 

Übrigens habe ich mein erstes richtiges Strickprojekt angefangen. Aber dazu später mehr. 

I'm back from my little holiday blog hiatus! The Applejack bag is almost done, I'm blocking the last part now and then I'll only need to sew everything together. 

I got lots of skeins of embroidery yarn from the advent calendar my mother gave me. In the beginning, I thought embroidery might be a bit difficult but actually it's rather easy. My first project was the Fluttershy embroidery in the picture. I printed out a pony drawing, traced the outlines with pencil on greaseproof paper, taped the paper onto the felt and stitched along (see picture below). 

Moreover, I'm on my first real knitting project. Expect news soon.
